Story Behind
"I got a call one day from Jon Peters, who was managing Barbra Streisand at the time. He said, ‘I want you and Barbra to do a duet.’ While I was extremely flattered, I said, ‘Our voices and styles couldn’t be more different. I’ll try my best to see if I can write something, but right now I just can’t imagine it.’ Within the hour, I went to the piano. I sat down and I had to yell for someone to bring me a yellow legal pad and a pencil because I thought, If I get up and leave the piano, it’s going to go away! ‘Make No Mistake, He’s Mine’ wrote itself in that next two hours." - Kim Carnes
"Make No Mistake, He's Mine" reached No. 8 on the US AC Chart. Later, Kenny Rogers and Ronnie Milsap's version topped the US Country Chart and won the Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Performance Duet.

Lyrics
Don't call him up anymore
'Cause I don't wanna hear your voice
I don' t wanna see your face
Answer his door
Make no mistake he's mine
He's mine, he's mine
He only knows how I feel
I only know what he's like
When he needs me
Oh, how he needs me
Deep in the night
Make no mistake, he's mine
He's mine, he's mine
Don't get too close when you dance
'Cause I don't wanna hear from my friends
You were out on the town
There in his arms
(There in his arms)
There in his arms
(There in his arms)
Don't include him in your dreams
(I wanna be in his dreams)
'Cause I don't wanna close my eyes
(My eyes)
I don't wanna know where he goes
Each night when he leaves
Make no mistake
(Make no mistake)
He's mine (he's mine)
He's mine (he's mine)
He is mine
Don't call him up anymore
Don't call him up anymore
