When I was a kid my dad would make my mom and me sit in the car in the garage if this song came on the radio. He'd turn it up high and he and I would sing along at the top of our lungs while my mom covered her ears. They've both passed now and listening to this song makes me cry happy tears.

Amazing to read some of the stories on here of how this song touched so many, so many years ago. Just amazing. Music can touch the soul and can enable you to relive so many good times.
So many nights
I'd sit by my window
Waiting for someone
To sing me his song
So many dreams
I've kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark
But now you've come along
And you
Light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
And fill my nights
With song
Rolling at sea
Adrift on the waters
Could it be finally
I'm turning for home?
Finally, a chance
To say, "Hey, I love you"
Never again
To be all alone
And you
Light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
And fill my nights
With song
And you
Light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
And fill my nights
With song
It can't be wrong
When it feels so right
'Cause you
You light up my life
